These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Cursivo (the "Service"), operated by Cursivo ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility & accounts
You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, if higher) to use the Service.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.
You agree to provide accurate information when registering, including via email/password, Google Sign-In, or LinkedIn Sign-In.
Email verification may be required before certain features (saving, AI tools, exports) are unlocked.
2. The Service
Cursivo provides an online resume editor with templates, an ATS-compatibility scoring tool (checked against systems such as Workday, Greenhouse, Lever, iCIMS, and Taleo), AI-assisted content suggestions and rewriting, and export to PDF/Word formats. Features, templates, AI models, and credit limits may change over time at our discretion.
3. AI features & credits
AI-powered features (e.g. bullet rewriting, scoring, suggestions, cover letters) are provided on a usage-based "credits" system. Free accounts receive a limited monthly credit allowance; paid plans may receive additional credits as described at purchase.
AI outputs are generated automatically and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for your purposes. You are solely responsible for reviewing, editing, and verifying any AI-generated content before relying on or submitting it (e.g. to employers).
We do not guarantee that any resume created with the Service — including AI-suggested or ATS-optimized content — will result in interviews, job offers, or any particular outcome.
If you connect your own third-party AI provider API key, you are responsible for all usage and costs incurred on that account, and for complying with that provider's terms.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of the resume content, personal information, and files you upload or create ("Your Content").
You grant us a limited license to host, store, process, and display Your Content solely as necessary to operate the Service (including sending relevant portions to AI providers to generate suggestions, and rendering exports).
You are responsible for ensuring Your Content does not violate any law or the rights of any third party, and that you have the right to share any personal data (including others' contact details, if included) that you submit.
If you generate a shareable link to your resume, you are responsible for managing access to that link.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to create misleading, fraudulent, or impersonating content (e.g. fake credentials or false employment history intended to deceive employers).
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other users' accounts or data, or to our systems.
Abuse, circumvent, or automate AI credit limits (e.g. through scripted requests, multiple accounts, or exploiting bugs).
Upload malicious files or content that infringes intellectual property or privacy rights of others.
Reverse-engineer, scrape, or resell the Service without our written permission.
6. Plans, credits & payments
Cursivo may offer free and paid plans with different feature sets and AI credit allowances. Where paid plans are available, pricing, billing terms, and refund policies (if any) will be presented at the time of purchase. Unused credits may expire at the end of a billing cycle unless otherwise stated. We reserve the right to change plan pricing and features with reasonable notice.
7. Intellectual property
The Service, including its templates, design, software, branding, and underlying technology, is owned by Cursivo or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for Your Content, nothing in these Terms grants you rights to our intellectual property beyond what is necessary to use the Service as intended.
8. Account suspension & termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or for security, legal, or operational reasons.
You may stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion as described in our Privacy Policy.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends; we may retain limited data as required by law or as described in our Privacy Policy.
9. Disclaimers
"As is" service
The Service, including AI-generated content, ATS scores, and templates, is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
ATS compatibility scores are estimates based on heuristics and are not guarantees that any specific employer's applicant tracking system will process your resume in any particular way.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Cursivo and its team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, opportunities, or income (including missed job opportunities), arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, including reliance on AI-generated content or ATS scores.
11. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party providers, including Google Firebase (authentication, hosting, and database), Google and LinkedIn (sign-in), and AI providers (such as OpenAI, Groq, or others) for AI features. We are not responsible for the availability, performance, or practices of these third parties, which are governed by their own terms.
12. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may modify or discontinue parts of the Service, and may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in India.
